Location information

Mataró is a town and port on the north-eastern coast of Spain, some 25 kilometres north-east of Barcelona on the Barcelona-Perpignan (France) road and railway. The cemetery, known locally as "Cementiri dels Caputxins", extends over the top of a hill at the north-eastern extremity of the town. The entrance to the cemetery is at the end of the Passeig de Josep Samsó, a dead end road. GPS co-ordinates 41.548333, 2.445833.

Visiting information

Cemetery opening times:

Summer: 9am to 6pm

Winter: 9am to 5.30pm

The graves of the 5 Australian airmen are located in niches in the north wall of the Secció Nova (new section), which is a short way to the right of the main entrance. On entering the Secció Nova, the niches are on the left hand wall. Parking is available outside the cemetery.
