A message from Claire Horton CBE, Director General of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission

Your Majesty, while we still feel deep sorrow at the loss of your beloved mother and our most cherished Monarch, Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Commissioners, staff and volunteers of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission send our warmest wishes to you, on your accession to the Throne of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Your dedication and commitment to our service community and to the wider act of Remembrance is of significant and continued comfort to so many. We have always been and remain ever grateful for your support and interest in our enduring work and most recently, in our efforts to find and commemorate those who for too long were forgotten.

We share a commitment to widening awareness and recognition for the contribution and sacrifices made by all peoples of the Commonwealth, as we strive to keep alive the ideal for which they died and, in so doing, build a more peaceful world.

We wish Your Majesty good health and great strength throughout your reign, and we look forward to continuing our long-established relationship with the Royal Family and to welcoming you to our sites once more.
