A rededication service for Captain Hugh Mortimer Travers will be held at CWGC’s New Irish Farm Cemetery, Ypres

A rededication service will be held for Captain Hugh Mortimer Travers at 10.30 am (local time) at New Irish Farm Cemetery.

Captain Travers served with 5th Bn. Royal Munster Fusiliers and attended 2nd Bn. Duke of Wellington’s (West Riding Regiment) and was killed in action on 8 November 1914.

Captain Travers was awarded the Distinguished Service Order.

CWGC will install a headstone bearing his name and personal inscription chosen by his family, and care for his grave in perpetuity.

The service has been organised by the Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre and will be attended by family members, Defence Staff, Regimental representatives, CWGC staff and local dignitaries. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
