Tour of Patcham Down Memorial (The Chattri), Brighton

As part of South Asian Heritage Month, join us to learn the stories of the men we commemorate across the South of England through tours at three locations. These tours will look at the work of the CWGC in commemorating these soldiers and those gave their lives in the First World War and Second World War.

South Asian Heritage Month (18th July to 17th August) seeks to commemorate, mark, and celebrate South Asian cultures, histories, and communities. The month seeks to understand the diverse heritage and cultures that continue to link the UK with South Asia.

High up on the South Downs outside Brighton sits the Chattri Indian Memorial and the CWGC Patcham Downs Memorial which commemorates 53 Indian soldiers of the First World War. Join us to learn the stories of these men, and the close connections between Brighton and the Indian Army.
