August 2021 to June 2022 - Construction work will be taking place in the vicinity of the cemetery and the road to the site will be impacted by heavy motor vehicles and earth moving equipment. Visitors are therefore advised to exercise caution when attempting to visit and to take extra care of personal belongings.
Location information
This uncontrolled cemetery is situated on railway property adjacent to the now abandoned and destroyed Trekkopje station. The turn off from the Usakos - Swakopmund road is marked. Follow the track through the desert for 2 km to the station.
History information
The casualties resulted from an attack by a German force on South African railway protection troops on 26 April 1915.
