Location information

Edinburgh Mount Vernon cemetery lies to the South of Edinburgh city centre, in the suburb of Liberton. Travelling on the Edinburgh City bypass (the A726) exit at the Straiton junction and head towards the city on Burdiehouse Road (the A701). Follow this road for about four miles, then turn right onto Kirkgate. This leads into Mount Vernon Road and the cemetery entrance is on the right hand side of this road, on a bend.

History information

There are 38 Commonwealth burials of the 1914-1918 war and 57 of the 1939-1945 war here. Those whose graves are not marked by headstones, are named on a Screen Wall memorial. In addition, the Commission maintains 2 non-war graves and 2 Belgian, 1 Italian and 30 Polish war graves in this site.
