Our War Graves Week events

War Graves Week 2021 aimed to encourage communities to come together to discover and learn about the work of CWGC in the UK and around the world.

There are still events to join in with: find out where and how you can get involved below.

We're running guided tours all Summer

Don't worry if you can't get to one of our main War Graves Week events, we're also providing guided tours throughout the summer at some of our cemeteries around the country.

We'll be adding tours on a regular basis, so check back to see if there's one near you.

Brookwood Military Cemetery, Surrey

During the Walking Tour you will visit war graves from both World Wars and learn about the history of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. You will also find out about some of the casualties that are commemorated here.

Winchester (Magdalen Hill) Cemetery, Hampshire

On Tuesday 8th June, join us for a guided tour at Magdalen Hill Cemetery, Winchester where you will discover the extraordinary tales of the casualties buried here from all corners of the world that the CWGC care for. There will also be artefacts on site that relate to these casualties recovered nearby during archaeological excavations of Morn Hill WW1 Military Transit Camp.

Cambridge City Cemetery, Cambridgeshire

Join the CWGC at Cambridge City Cemetery, the final resting place of over 1000 servicemen and women who lost their lives in the two world wars. We will be running guided tours around the war graves and memorials in the cemetery.

Gosport (Ann's Hill) Cemetery, Hampshire

During both wars, Gosport was a significant sea port and Naval depot, with many government factories and installations based there, as well as the Haslar Naval Hospital.
